This sweet boy is sooo cute! Look at that adorable baby face. He needed to be wrapped to settle down and fall asleep, which is very normal at two weeks. Most typical babies begin to be more alert around a couple weeks and can keep themselves awake a bit longer. This is really fun because you start to see their eyes and their personality emerge! But they rarely think my job is all that great of an idea so it’s easier if they are sleeping, so that the session can move along a bit faster.

I do love these awake shots! As long as baby is fully fed and nice and toasty warm, it’s so wonderful to catch these relaxed newborn moments. It may surprise you to find out though, that I took all these in a few minutes. So once we have relaxed together for a little while it’s good to move on to some wrapped shots or a different color or set up. Even if a baby is awake the whole time, I will make sure we get a full gallery of beautiful pictures.
